From November 1 to 2, 2019, German Federal Minister of Education and Research, Anja Karliczek was part of a delegation accompanying German Chancellor, Dr. Angela Merkel, to the 5th Indo-German Intergovernmental Consultations. During the visit in New Delhi, the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New Delhi organized a meeting with its supporter organizations and the minister.
Being an active member of the DWIH New Delhi, TUM Mumbai was invited to the exchange on research cooperation with India and internationalization strategies. During the meeting, liaison officer Hanna Kriebel briefed the minister about the work and objectives of the TUM Mumbai office and the TUM Global network.
Good news for TUM Mumbai: During the Intergovernmental Consultations, a new Memorandum of Understanding to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation in the field of higher education was signed between the Indian and German (DAAD) side. The Indo-German Partnerships in Higher Education Program (IGP) will involve investments of Euros 3.5 million each by both the parties. Perfect, to further enhance the activities of TUM in India.
