After meeting only virtually in the past two years, this time the General Assembly of the Magalhães Network was held again in presence. During the meeting, the representatives of the universities mainly discussed the key challenges in modern education and in the cooperation between Europe and Latin America in the post-pandemic period and summarized the cooperation successes among the network partners so far.

The Magalhães Network was established in 2005 and currently includes 20 European and 18 Latin American universities. The goal of the network is to promote academic exchange and collaboration between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. Within the network, transatlantic student exchange is particularly promoted and TUM is very active in this. Among the Latin American network members are TUM's main partner universities in the region.

In 2023, the General Assembly of the Magalhães Network will be hosted in Bath, England.
