The buddies' tasks are to help students with everyday problems or to refer them to suitable contacts and to check on the students' well-being at regular intervals.
Special needs can include a disability, chronic illness, or learning disorder – or that the students want to bring children with them. In our experience, learning disorders like dyslexia are the most common special needs that exchange students may have. Appropriate training and support for mentors will be provided by the TUM Global & Alumni Office.
This initiative should help to better understand the situation and needs of the aforementioned students in order to develop appropriate assistance and to enable direct contact at the peer-to-peer level.
