From October 9 - 19, TUM San Francisco and TUM ForTe organized the TUM US Venture Program in Silicon Valley for ten of the best TUM entrepreneurs for the second time.
The TUM US Venture Program is a 10-day program where two team members from five start-ups participate in various workshops and face2face pitch trainings and have the opportunity to meet entrepreneurs, visit companies and exchange experiences with mentors and experts. Among the highlights of the program was a meeting with TUM alum Elmar Mair at X, Google Moonshot Factory, as well as a public pitching event where the start-ups Contunity, Gastrobotics, Prospeum, RideBee and WunderX pitched to a jury panel and around 60 guests.
At the same time, the EIT Global Food Venture Program took place. As part of an intensive curriculum of tailored seminars and workshops spread out over a period of six months, 25 highly-motivated PhD students from across Europe visited Silicon Valley to gain insights into this innovation ecosystem. The visit in Silicon Valley was co-organized by TUM San Francisco and TUM ForTe. The young innovators visited established agrifood companies, start-up incubators or accelerators and gained access to an international network of food & agtech experts, mentors and investors to help them validate their idea and embark on a journey to become successful entrepreneurs.
