Indo-German Partnership Project: Grand finale at TUM

Global South, News, TUM Mumbai | 10.06.2024

After four years of intense collaboration, the Indo-German Partnership Project “Exploration” team is preparing for the grand finale of the IGP activities. From late June to early July, the IGP Summer School and the TUM x IIT Kharagpur Research Forum will occur in parallel at TUM. We look forward to welcoming researchers and doctoral candidates from our two Indian partners. Registration for the Research Forum is now open.

After two successful IGP Winter Schools at IIT Bombay (IITB), it is now TUM's pleasure to welcome a select group of IITB students to the first-ever IGP Summer School in Munich. The week-long program, led by TUM Professor Miranda Schreurs and IITB Professor NC Narayanan, will cover important aspects of governance, water management, and climate resilience programs to help shape a climate-resilient future.

The program consists of a combination of classroom sessions and site visits, which gives participants a comprehensive insight into the most critical aspects of freshwater and wastewater management and effective climate resilience strategies. Renowned professors from TUM, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, and MIT lead the program.

The participating students will visit various locations in and around Munich, such as the freshwater reservoir in Forstenrieder Park and the recycling center in Langwied, to further deepen their practical knowledge.

From July 1 to 3, 2024, Prof. Constantinos Antoniou from TUM and Prof. Siddhartha Mukhopadhyay from IIT Kharagpur (IITKGP) are organizing a three-day research forum at TUM. The forum will include a workshop, presentations, and discussions on "Information & Energy Technologies for Sustainable Urban Mobility."

During the event, experts from both institutes and industry representatives will present a comprehensive analysis of the various aspects that shape urban mobility. They will explain how our lifestyles, technologies, and the ecosphere influence urban mobility and the opportunities to make our cities greener, more efficient, and more dynamic. Another focus of the forum is the "Energy Mobility Nexus." The panel of experts will discuss energy use, management, and storage technologies that will enable new forms of mobility on water and land.

Registration for the TUM x IITKGP Research Forum

All researchers, students, and external interested parties are cordially invited to participate in the TUM x IITKGP Research Forum, which will take place in Munich and Garching as well as online. You can find detailed information and registration links on our website Exploration. An Indo-German Partnership.
