Working students, first-time graduates and students with children are entitled to an additional monthly grant. Students with a degree of disability of 20 or more, a chronic illness, or a proven disability that cause additional financial needs abroad can also apply for this funding. Learn more
Students with a degree of disability of 20, with a chronic illness or students who are going abroad with child(ren) can apply for funding for the actual costs. The additional costs incurred due to this criterion must be listed in detail. Gain international experience through a short stay at a European university during ATHENS Week. Twice a year, the ATHENS program allows you to apply for a one-week stay and a wide range of courses at a partner university in the ATHENS network. Learn more
At the initiative of lecturers, travel with a TUM working group to a university in Europe for at least one week. As part of a framework program, you will complete a research project or a seminar in cooperation with two other universities, both in person and virtually. For this purpose, funding is available from the Erasmus+ program. Learn more
Take part in the free virtual courses of the TUM partner universities of the EuroTeQ network. Choose a course that fits your profile from the variety of the EuroTeQ Course Catalogue and register. You will receive an official certificate of participation at the end. Learn more

Students from EuroTeQ partner universities can apply to take part in free virtual courses at TUM. Take a look at the wide range of courses on offer and first apply for your desired course at your home university. Once allocated, you will receive all relevant information from TUM about the process and course enrollment. Learn more
Students from ATHENS partner universities have the opportunity to apply for the semester-specific courses offered by TUM as part of a short stay. Twice a year, TUM offers in-person courses accompanied by a cultural program. Applications are processed via the ATHENS portal and course allocation is carried out by the head office in Paris. TUM employees with differing abilities, chronic illnesses, or children are entitled to additional financial support. Allow at least three months to process the needs-based grant (Realkostenantrag), and be sure to contact the program coordinator at the TUM Global & Alumni Office. Learn more
