Intercultural Training: How do Germans “tick”?

Welcome Services | 05.07.2017

Being new in Germany might cause questions on how to deal with the locals in research, business and daily life. To help you find answers to these questions and to make your stay easier, more comfortable and even more successful, we have invited Andreas Hauser, an intercultural trainer.

The session’s main idea is to share individual experiences with other international researchers with other cultural backgrounds. It shall invite to ask questions in a relaxed atmosphere and exchange views with each other. Mr. Hauser will give a lively presentation as a “kick off” where he’ll address topics such as communication styles in Germany, hierarchy concepts, time management, conflict resolution and establishing relationships in business and social life with colleagues/locals in Germany. The talk will be given in English.

We invite all international researchers of TUM and Max Planck Society and ask for a registration until July, 21st, 2017 via email to Stefanie Bossert (bossert(at)zv.tum.de) stating your first and last name, your affiliation/institution (TUM or MPG), and your nationality. We are looking forward to meeting you there!

Time: Tuesday, July 25th, 2017, 5.30 pm – 7.30pm
Place: Seminarraum des MCTS im 2. Stock, Augustenstraße 46, 80333 München
Directions: You enter a small passageway from Augustenstraße 44 and come to a courtyard. Here it is the entrance in the far left corner on the 2nd floor.
Expert: Andreas Hauser (Intercultural Trainer, developing culture)
