TUM São Paulo: Great demand at the first workshop for doctoral candidates and postdocs in Bogotá

News, TUM São Paulo | 12.06.2019

Offered for the first time, and already a complete success: After years of experience in Brazil, TUM São Paulo Liaison Officer Sören Metz recently also organized a workshop for postgraduates and postdocs in neighboring Colombia. Numerous candidates came to the Universidad de los Andes on May 8 to find out about opportunities for doctorates and offers for postdocs at TUM.

The TUM liaison office in São Paulo has been offering this event format successfully in Brazil since 2014. For the premiere in Colombia, more than 80 participants found their way to the Japan Center of the TUM partner university Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes).

In addition tothe advice given by Sören Metz, the candidates also received additional insights from TUM alumna Prof. Dr. Catalina Arevalo Ferro. She did her PhD at the Life Science Center Weihenstephan (WZW) at TUM and was able to pass on her experiences to the interested participants in Bogotá.

Besides Uniandes, TUM also maintains successful partnerships with the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL) and the Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA).

Further Dates: DAAD alumni event on the topic "250 Years Humboldt"

During the week from May 6 to 12, a DAAD seminar on "Humboldt y las Américas" took place in Bogotá. For this event, the DAAD invited alumni from Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Cuba and Colombia to discuss the impact of Humboldt in today's scientific system while also celebrating its 250th anniversary. TUM Liaison Officer Sören Metz took the opportunity to network with numerous TUM alumni from different countries.
