At the first doctoral workshop organized in Rio, which took place at the DAAD premises on December 3, TUM São Paulo Liaison Officer Sören Metz gave expert advice to around 20 candidates on how to pursue a doctorate at TUM. As part of this workshop, he also informed them on research priorities and funding opportunities.
On December 12, the liaison officer participated in an event on research in Germany called Opportunities for Doctorate, Postdoctorate and Funding for Cooperation with Scientists at German Institutes and Universities, which took place in the Centro Nacional de Biologia Estrutural e Bioimagem (CENABIO), an interdisciplinary research center of UFRJ. The event aimed to showcase a wide range of research stay possibilities in Germany as well as scientific collaboration opportunities with researchers from German institutions. Around 70 participants, including university teaching staff, postdocs, doctoral students and students from various disciplines, benefited from the manifold funding opportunities presented during the workshop.
