TUM Global Week 2019

News, Global South, TUM Global | 02.07.2019

Between June 24 and 28, TUM’s City Campus hosted the 2019 TUM Global Week. TUM International Center organized the event in close cooperation with the representatives of TUM’s liaison offices in Beijing, Brussels, Cairo, Mumbai, São Paulo, San Francisco and of TUM Asia.

Following a year full of festive anniversary celebrations at all TUM Global locations, the TUM liaison officers met with the Board of Management in Munich to present their ongoing projects and discuss current developments and potentials in their respective regional university landscapes.

The focus of this year's TUM Global Week was the personal exchange with TUM scientists. In several meetings as part of a roadshow across individual departments, TUM faculty members of Architecture, Mathematics, Computer Science and the TUM School of Life Sciences Weihenstephan gained valuable insights into the work of TUM’s liaison officers. Their presentations illustrated how diverse the portfolios of all liaison offices are and how TUM faculty benefits from the expertise and services when establishing and expanding their international relations.

Due to the positive feedback of all participants, the continuation of this format during the next TUM Global Week has already been decided. Next year’s TUM Global Week will take place from June 22 to 30, 2020. Follow our liaison offices’ activities via the TUM Global Newsfeed and learn more about the TUM Global Network.

The TUM Global Week was first organized in 2016, and has since become a key event for the TUM Global Network. As an instrument of strategic internationalization, TUM Asia and the liaison offices have emerged as hubs for regional knowledge transfer and have become important points of contact and orientation for both TUM researchers and administrative staff.

If you have any questions concerning the next TUM Global Week, please contact Layla Eberle.
