Under the rubric of TUM’s 150th anniversary, the liaison officers met with the TUM Board of Management to present their ideas to celebrate our university’s anniversary and to discuss current developments and new potentials in their respective higher education markets.
In regional focus sessions, the liaison officers informed the wider TUM community about higher education trends in their host countries, and gave further insights into funding opportunities and other services supporting the initiation or advancement of international collaborations and partnerships.
In addition to an introduction to the higher education and science markets of India, China and Latin America, TUM Asia used the occasion to recall its first impressive 15 years in operation. The EU Master Class session by TUM Brussels provided hands-on information about the last round of Horizon 2020 calls, and allowed for a first discussion of the upcoming European research and innovation framework program. TUM Cairo’s intercultural workshop on Arab culture illustrated once more the impressive portfolio of TUM’s liaison offices and their bridge-building role in their individual regions.
The TUM Global Week was first organized in 2016, and has since become a key event for the TUM Global Network. As an instrument of strategic internationalization, TUM Asia and the liaison offices have emerged as hubs for regional knowledge transfer and have become important points of contact and orientation for both TUM researchers and administrative staff.
