TUM Global Dialogue Series 2023 with a focus on "Global South"

Global South, TUM Global, News | 16.10.2023

Winter semester also means: It's time again for the TUM Global Dialogue Series! This year, the international speaker series concentrates on the topic of "Global South". TUM São Paulo started the series with a dialogue on exemplary North-South and South-South cooperation. TUM Beijing is scheduled to conclude the Global Dialogue Series 2023 on December 20.

As part of the TUM Global Dialogue Series, the entire TUM community and interested members of the public are invited to participate in the dialogue between TUM researchers and their partners, as well as social actors worldwide. The TUM Global Dialogue Series 2023 has the theme "Global South" and offers a broad spectrum of events.

The TUM liaison offices in the Global South, for example, focus on presenting South-South cooperation and selected projects. The liaison offices in the Global North address the topic either through cooperation with one of the other offices or through content that has a particular relevance for the Global South and TUM's engagement in this region.

Kick-off through TUM São Paulo: North-South and South-South cooperation in the field of agricultural sciences

The initial event, organized by TUM São Paulo, occurred on October 10. In the TUM São Paulo Dialogue North-South and South-South Cooperation on the Example of Agricultural Research, the experts dealt with research cooperation in agricultural sciences, highlighting both TUM's collaborations with Africa and joint projects of the Brazilian partner university UNESP with Africa.
