Tsinghua-TUM Talks on Intelligent Cities: Impulses for innovation and collaboration

A city is a dynamic and complicated system with multiple stakeholders. To cope with continuous climate change, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, reduce material and energy consumption, and achieve the goal of sustainable development, we need to implement precise planning and flexible resource allocation for urban development. The Tsinghua-TUM Talks on Intelligent Cities brought together eight leading experts from TUM and Tsinghua to explore the challenges and opportunities in building future smart cities.

"In an era marked by rapid urbanization and technological advancement, the concept of Intelligent Cities has emerged as a beacon of innovation and efficiency", stated TUM Senior Vice President Prof. Juliane Winkelmann. "In this sense, we look forward to sharing our experiences with our partners at Tsinghua University and look forward to many more occasions like today's Talks that promote both individual and inter-institutional learning."

The Tsinghua-TUM Talks are an annual series of events that were piloted at the end of 2020 with resounding success and provide insights into the relevant topics for the strategic flagship partnership between TUM and Tsinghua University. In the future, Tsinghua and TUM will organize further networking formats as part of this partnership to connect scientists from both institutions even more closely in common priority areas.
