Successful first International Day at the TUM City Campus

News | 22.06.2018

June 20, 2018 was the day: For the first time TUM International Day took place not only in Weihenstephan and Garching but also at the Munich City Campus. Hundreds of students grabbed the chance to quiz their international fellow students about their home countries and get a special kind of insight into the various cultures through delicious food, traditional music – and partially also garb.

After the info events about the various opportunities for stays abroad were finished, the matriculation hall opened its doors for the international students' fair at 1 pm. Students from 16 countries creatively organized a colorful program.

A lot of them had lavishly decorated their booths and they all were in high spirits when they provided their fellow students with insider information about Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, France, India, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, Tunisia, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. Besides the valuable information, they had also prepared culinary treats such as spicy Indian fingerfood and sweet Norwegian waffles.

The first International Day at the TUM City Campus ended with an award ceremony for the best booths at 4 pm. Mexico took first place, closely followed by the representatives of India and Ecuador. TUM International Center would like to say thank you again to all participants and is already looking forward to organizing the next International Day at  Munich City Campus.
