Research internships at the École Polytechnique

The École Polytechnique is offering an interesting internship program for TUM students this year. By taking part in the program, bachelor, master and PhD students have the opportunity to complete a research internship in one of the universities research centers.

Services provided by the École Polytechnique

  • Monthly scholarship of 550 - 750 Euro
  • Accommodation support
  • If necessary: visa support

 

How does the application process work?

The application process for research internships at the École Polytechnique takes places in two steps: First, the students apply to the International Center. After successful application and therefore being nominated for the research internship, the students approach the École Polytechnique in a second step. Important note: For the application at the École Polytechnique it is necessary to submit to recommendation letters from two professors using a template provided by the university. These documents should be requested as soon as possible!

Step 1: Application via the IC

The application to the TUM International Center have to be done via the Erasmus Praktikum (SMP) online application portal. Here the online application form has to be filled out and the exchange program Erasmus Internship / Praktikum (SMP) has to be selected. Furthermore, the following documents have to be uploaded:

  • CV in English
  • Motivational essay in English (including the internship subjects or research areas the student is interested in, and why you are qualified for these subjects)
  • Current transcript of records Enrollment certificate
  • List of desired internship projects (up to 3 projects)

                 Please note:

    • The list has to be signed by the International Affairs Delegate of the student’s TUM department.
    • The list has to be uploaded in the field Learning Agreement in the online application portal.
    • The above mentioned template of the École Polytechnique needs to be used.

 

Please send your application (pdf) to Anna Schwark by January 18, 2018. 

On the basis of the submitted documents the TUM International Center will select up to five TUM students and nominate those for the internship program at the École Polytechnique.

 

Step 2: Apply at the École Polytechnique

After the successful nomination, the selected students have to apply for the internship program at the École Polytechnique by January 31, 2018. Further information on the application procedure may be found on the program website of the École Polytechnique.
