TUMi and MESA concluded the summer semester with a very special event. TUM International Center's orientation and support program, and its LMU equivalent, are part of the pan-European Erasmus Student Network (ESN), through which students across the continent engage in volunteering for exchange and understanding in Europe. On July 14 they brought international students of the 2018 summer semester together again in the heart of Munich.
Celebrating in front of the "Europe skyline" in the Olympiapark
In addition to a joint farewell party for the exchange students, there was another good reason for the event: Since July 11, the "Europe skyline" of the campaign #munich4EUROPE has been standing in the Olympic Park. It aims to arouse enthusiasm for the diversity of Europe and to motivate citizens to engage and participate in the public. Also a perfect starting point for the ESN meeting.
As a small surprise, the tutors of TUMi and MESA distributed European flag muffins in front of the skyline for all those students, who wanted an additionally sweetened end of the semester. They celebrated happily and ended up posing enthusiastically in the spirit of the ESN philosophy with their flags in front of the #munich4EUROPE logo.
#munich4EUROPE on tour in Munich
The skyline will remain in the Olympic Park until mid-September and then move on to the Bavaria Park. Comprehensive information on the #munich4EUROPE campaign can be found on the campaign website. In addition, #munich4EUROPE is represented on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Here you can also link your munich4EUROPE snapshots.
As part of #munich4EUROPE, the "Young Ambassador" contest will also run until August 14. We are looking for a young ambassador for Munich at the EUROCITIES Annual Meeting in November 2018 in Edinburgh. Information about the application can also be found on the #munich4EUROPE website.
Now we wish all students a nice and relaxing summer vacation – in Europe and all over the world!
