The half-day seminar was initiated jointly by the Bavarian University Center for Latin America (BAYLAT) and the regional office Brazil of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to inform about current trends and challenges within the Bavarian-Brazilian cooperation in research and science.
At a subsequent networking lunch, the participants had the opportunity to make new contacts, to discuss existing cooperation and personal experiences. Representatives of the following TUM partner universities, which were successful in the first round in the Brazilian funding program for the internationalization of research and postgraduate studies "PrInt" (comparable to the German Excellence Initiative): USP, UNESP and UFRGS, also participated. With these universities, further steps are now planned in the intensification of cooperation with the TUM. For example, a symposium on the topic of bioeconomy will be held in Sao Paulo together with UNESP in 2019.
