As in previous years, October was quite busy for TUM Beijing because it is always in October that the largest higher education fairs take place in mainland China (CEE) as well as in Taiwan (EEFT). Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Taipeh, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are among the cities at which TUM Liaison Officer Zhenshan Jin attended these and similar events which target Chinese and Taiwanese high school graduates and their parents. Complementing these fairs, the German Academic Exchange Service organized a series of information events at local universities, PASCH Schools and German Schools.
Most visitors at the TUM booth were interested in master’s programs in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communication Technology, Computer Science, Architecture and Management. It came as quite the encouraging surprise, though, that many attendees at the CEE in Shanghai were also interested in TUM’s undergraduate programs.
In total, by attending the study fairs, TUM Beijing was able to advise some 2,300 high school and university students and their parents about the conditions and opportunities to pursue their studies at TUM. We look forward to many applicants next semester!
