Weibo is a miniblog that combines the features of social media services like Facebook and Twitter. Since Facebook and Twitter cannot be used in China, Weibo is one of the most important and popular social media marketing tools here. To date, approximately 2,400 posts have been published on TUM Weibo. For example on developments at TUM, new inventions and research results achieved by TUM scientists, but also on application processes at TUM and events related to our university.
Currently, TUM Weibo receives an average of more than 42,000 hits per week. The post on TUM among the best 50 universities for the tenth time, posted on Weibo on March 5, 2021, has already been read more than 40,000 times.
TUM Weibo serves not only as a marketing channel, but also as a communication platform with our alumni and prospective students. TUM members who want to spread information in China, such as about study programs, job postings, or new initiatives, are welcome to contact TUM Beijing liaison officer Zhenshan Jin at any time.
