The Europaforum takes up current topics in the areas of economy, culture, consumer protection, and life in Europe. The City Library regularly invites renowned speakers. The next forum will take place on April 18th, 2018, at 7 p.m. about the topic “The EU and Russia – Showdown in the International Arena” in cooperation with the Europäischen Akademie Bayern and the Münchner Volkshochschule. The speakers will be Dr. Margarete Klein, the Eastern Europe and Eurasia expert at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, and Sylvia Hartleif, the Foreign Policy Team Leader of the European Political Strategy Centre.
The Kino Europa event series showcases the excellent diversity and quality of European cinema. It offers varying perspectives on Europe by showing a broad variety of different European movies. The next screening will be on April 23rd, 2018, with the movie Djam. This film by the French director Tony Gatlif is about the encounter between a Greek girl, Djam, and a French girl, Avril, in Istanbul, where they start a journey full of hope to Greece. The actress Daphne Patakia (Djam) will be present for the subsequent discussion.
