Since 1990, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TUM has gained significant experience with double degree studies due to its particiaption in the T.I.M.E. program (Top Industrial Managers for Europe).

On 10.12.2004 a double degree MoU was signed with École Polytechnique in Palaiseau close to Paris. It is open to students of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Surveying, IT and Electrial Engineering and Mathematics.

Excerpt from a statement by the École Polytechnique:

This session is of interest for students currently in their 2nd year at TUM. They would apply by early April, take the oral exams at Ecole Polytechnique in May and arrive at Ecole Polytechnique:

  1. in February of the following year if they want to take part in the linguistic and scientific preparation before the beginning of the courses in April.
  2. directly in April of the following year to start the core scientific curriculum.

This early application session will allow them to know well in advance that they are admitted into the Double Degree Program at Ecole Polytechnique.

Information about the early application session

Application forms are available from the École Polytechnique and should be submitted to the École Polytechnique via Christoph Steber.
