OPERATE (Operational procedure to assess opportunities and risks of international STI cooperation) is an online application developed by the Project Management Agency of the German Aerospace Center (DLR-PT) to assess the opportunities and risks of international research cooperation. The tool focuses on scientists, stimulates a targeted discussion process and helps to make better-informed decisions. DLR-PT will conduct the presentation and demonstration.

Best practice exchange, further education, or teaching experience abroad - TUM offers many opportunities to deepen your skills with international partners. In a round table discussion, TUM employees from administration and science report on their stay abroad with the Erasmus+ program or as Montgelas Fellow. What experiences did they have during their stay, what did they learn from their work at TUM, and what would they recommend to colleagues planning a similar sponsored stay? Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to ask your personal questions.

Latin America remains a dynamic region, especially since the last significant elections – Chile, Colombia, and Brazil in 2022; Paraguay and Argentina in 2023 – the area is again moving into the global spotlight. Brazil will also host the international climate conference COP (in Belém) and the G20 meeting (in Rio de Janeiro) in 2024. In addition to funding programs that the region has to offer, the session will also present current trends. Finally, there will be a Q&A session with all participants.

We will uncover the psychological underpinnings of age discrimination and examine interventions that have shown promise in reducing it.

The TUM Global Postdoc Fellowship is a two-year funding opportunity for postdocs currently residing abroad and wanting to start their research at TUM. The call is open to researchers who completed their doctorate a maximum of three years ago or will complete their doctorate within the next 12 months. The call has two phases. In Phase I, you are not required to submit a letter of support from a TUM host. However, you must identify a TUM host who will support your application during Phase II of the submission process. In this info session, we will explain the structure of the TUM Global Postdoc Fellowship to you and have a Q&A session for all interested applicants.

In this taster workshop for slightly advanced interculturalists, you will learn to apply intercultural theories and techniques to analyze and understand experiences you may remember from your exchange program or other situations. We will reflect on our own cultural identity and deal with the phenomenon of "reverse culture shock". This is a further step towards a deeper understanding of intercultural considerations and building an expanded repertoire of coping strategies.

On May 15, 2024, the TUM Community will hit the road again: For the tenth time, the TUM: Junge Akademie (TUMJA) as the main organizer together with TUM4Health - the student health management of the Technical University of Munich - invites you to the legendary TUM Campus Run. All TUM members can put their fitness to the test on the 5.5 or 11-kilometer course and, above all, have fun. The motto of this year's run is "Running global." As a special feature for the anniversary, it offers a virtual run 24 hours before the campus run in Garching, meaning that members of the TUM family worldwide can participate in the joint run.
